You may have heard EICR being mentioned on the news or in a conversation, but do you know what it is? EICR stands for Early Intervention and Childcare Register. It is a list of all children who need early help from local agencies to address their special needs. This article will cover three things that you should know about EICR in Watford: how it came into being, what EICRs are looking for, and how they work with families.

How it came into being? EICR’s in Watford were introduced as a result of the Children Act 2004. EICRs is responsible for identifying children who have special needs and prioritizing them based on their need for support.

What EICRs look at? EICRs are trying to understand how well your child is doing compared to other children of the same age or stage of development. They also consider if there are any signs that show your child may not be developing normally. What this means is they’re looking out for anything unusual about your child’s health or behavior that could affect his or her learning or daily life with you and others around him/her.

Some examples include: Being unable to talk by the time/she turns three years old.

Not being able to dress him/herself by the time he/she is six years old.

Having difficulty understanding people’s feelings or talking about his/her own feelings, even though she can talk in full sentences and has had more than one year of school.

EICRs also look at how your child communicates with you, other adults, and children around them (such as their siblings). EICRs are trying to understand how well your child is doing compared to other children of the same age or stage of development. They also consider if there are any signs that show your child may not be developing normally.

What this means is they’re looking out for anything unusual about your child’s health or behavior, like how well he or she is growing, if they know the right words to say in different situations (like when you ask them what they want for dinner) and can follow directions. They also look at your child’s ability to socialize with other children their age.

EICRs may do some tests called “screenings” that are normal parts of EICR care. Screening tests check for things like hearing loss, vision problems, allergies and asthma, speech delay, developmental delays, etc.

In conclusion, EICR in Watford is a great way to keep your child healthy and EICRs also look for things that may need extra attention.
