When you want to try something that’s similar yet different to a candle, you should try a wax melt. You’ll need a wax warmer to melt these with. There are a variety of different types available for you to choose from.

Tea Light

With this type of warmer a tea light candle will be used to produce the heat that’s needed to melt the wax. This is a great choice if you still want to enjoy the ambience that a candle will bring into your home. Make sure that you use an unscented tea light candle though since the wax melt will have its own fragrance. If you still want to use a scented tea light candle, you should try different fragrance combinations so you find something that works well with the wax’s scent.

Electric with Light Bulb

For an electric wax warmer to work a source of electric heat will need to be present. The most common type uses an incandescent light bulb for heat. This bulb’s wattage will vary depending on the wattage of the warmer you’re using. These are nice to use in areas where you need some light and a pleasant fragrance too. They’re also great when you don’t want to have an open flame in your home.

Electric Outlet Plug-in

There are some electric wax melters that you can easily plug into any available outlet. These are great to use when you don’t have a lot of space available to set something on. You can even find these with a lightbulb if that’s of interest to you.

Electric with Heating Plate

Another type of electric wax warmer that you can choose from is the type that comes with a heating plate. Many people like using this type of warmer because you can safely and easily use your wax melt without having to worry about the presence of an open flame. Instead, you can quickly and easily turn these warmers off whenever you want. Additionally, some of these models can also serve as candle jar warmers if you also use those in your home.

Using Your New Warmer

Regardless of what type of wax warmer you get, it’ll be easy to use. Simply place your wax melt in it and turn it on so it’ll heat up. Whether you’ll need to light a candle or plug your warmer into an outlet you’ll still enjoy the same great fragrance from your melt.
